The Motorola Evolve is an Android phone that is intrinsically safe for use in hazardous locations when it is used with the Motorola Solutions UL approved battery and model number HK2171A: 

• Class I: Division 1, Groups C, D 
  
• Class II: Group E, F, G 
  
• Class III: Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D 
  
• T3C: Tamb = -4°F to +140° F (-20°C to +60°C) 
  

The Evolve is certified by UL to standards UL 913 5th Edition and UL 121201-2019. Using a non-intrinsically safe battery or aftermarket accessories will void the certification. 

 Intrinsically safe equipment is designed to reduce the amount of energy available to prevent sparks and keep temperatures low. This limits the possibility of ignition and heat buildup. 

 The Evolve is a rugged phone with a 5 inch touchscreen, Gorilla Glass 3 screen, and IP68 rating, making it dustproof and submersible in up to 2 meters of water for up to 2 hours. It also has a dedicated push-to-talk button and an orange emergency button that can be programmed for an emergency call.
